JC Penney just released an Ad to beg its customer to comeback. I don’t know why, but i feel like this is going to backfire even more. But first let me give you a back story.
JC Penney has been struggling for the past few years. The competition between Macy’s and Khol’s is pretty stiff. After asking the design guy from the Apple stores to work its magic with their stores, the company still failed to rise up the ranks. Now we’re talking Billions, yes BILLIONS in lost sales – 4.3 billion to be exact– over the past year in a failed design overhaul attempt. An apology is in fact in order.
“It’s no secret. Recently, J.C. Penney changed. Some changes you liked, and some you didn’t. But what matters with mistakes is what we learn. We learned a very simple thing: to listen to you.”
First step to recovery is admitting you have a problem. Apologizing to those you hurt second. But i can’t help to wonder, since their trend reports shows who’s their demographic is Youtube the best venu for an apology? Or we’re sorry but not sorry enough to run this on TV?
Either way i hope it pays off. I like JCP, they had that one funny commercial back then.
